The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ guitarist John Frusciante confirmed Wednesday via his MySpace blog that he is no longer a part of the group, and hasn’t really been for “over a year.”
Frusciante details that the split was amicable, stating that there was “no drama or anger involved,” and simply that his “musical interests have led (him) in a different direction.”
The post alluded to Frusciante’s solo project as his top priority right now, stating “I simply have to be what I am, and have to do what I must do.”
Record Collection released Frusciante’s solo album “The Empyrean” January 27th, 2009. It is available here.

It’s nearly two months before the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards Air, and the twists and turns have already begun. The awards show, which will air January 31st, 2010 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, has a long standing tradition of surprises, though the twists don’t typically start THIS early.
Rolling Stone reports a change in the nominee lineup, barely a week after it was announced. According to RS, Miley Cyrus’ tune “The Climb” was accidentally submitted for consideration in the Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media running. According to sources the song was withdrawn from the race by Miley’s camp, citing that the song was not actually written FOR the film Hannah Montana: The Movie.
Taking its place on the ballot is “All is Love” by Karen O and the kids, which was written for Spike Jones’ Where the Wild Things Are. “All is Love” was the song with the next highest votes, so it was automatically given the slot. Other contenders include: “Decode” by Paramore from the movie Twilight, “Jai Ho” by A.R. Rahman, Sukhvinder Singh, Tanvi Shah, Mahalaxmi Iyer & Vijay Prakash from the movie Slumdog Millionaire, “Once in a Lifetime” by Beyonce from the movie Cadillac Records, and “The Wrestler” by Bruce Springsteen from the movie The Wrestler.

Midwest favorites Stellar Road return to the rVibe platform this Saturday, December 5th, live from 115 Bourbon in Chicago, IL.
The Stellar Road guys are no strangers to live streaming-they’ve performed live on rVibe before from Joe’s Bar in their native Chicago-but return this time with new material. Their self-titled sophomore album was released this summer, and is now available on iTunes.
Since the release of their debut album in 2004, the four-piece alt. rock outfit has been putting their hearts and souls into making music, as well as touring the country to spread their tunes near and far.
“When you have a group of people who genuinely love music as much as we do, the possibilities are endless,” said singer Jack Daly in the groups bio.
